A deck comes off quickly. What tends to stay is the set of concrete piers or deck blocks underneath, and homeowners often discover them when they start landscaping months later. It is cheap to pull them while the machine is already on site and expensive to arrange a separate visit.
We ask the question up front and quote the ground clear rather than the deck gone, because those are different jobs and only one of them is what most people actually want. Larger pads run through slab removal, the material leaves under debris hauling with weigh tickets returned, and where the whole lot is being cleared it folds into the residential demolition scope at a better rate than a standalone visit.

Not All Timber Is Waste
Deck removal: old cedar and hardwood is worth saving
Pressure-treated deck boards from the last twenty years are disposal, and there is no market for them. Older cedar, redwood and tropical hardwood are a different matter, and on a large deck the recovered material can be worth more than the labour to take it apart carefully.
We look at the timber during the site visit and tell you which you have. Where it is worth saving, careful dismantling runs under deconstruction and salvage rather than demolition, and you either keep the material or we credit it.
Where it is not, the fastest route is the cheapest and we say so. Everything that leaves is sorted under disposal and recycling so the diversion figure on your invoice is real, and the ground is finished under grading and backfill.

Only if you ask, and you should. Pulling piers while the machine is on site costs very little, and arranging a separate visit later costs a great deal more.
Usually not for a deck or a small shed, but larger outbuildings on a foundation can need one. We check your municipality rather than guessing.
Old cedar and hardwood often can. Pressure-treated boards cannot, and anyone offering to reuse them is doing you no favours.
A standard rear deck is half a day to a day, plus footing removal. Multi-level decks with built-in seating take longer to dismantle than to knock down.
It is disconnected by a licensed trade before we start. Garden lighting and shed feeds are still live circuits and they are not our work to cut.
