A sound garage pad in the right position is worth keeping. It saves the breaking, the haulage and the backfill, which on a standard double garage is a meaningful part of the price. But a cracked pad, or one in the wrong footprint for the replacement, becomes an expensive obstacle for whoever builds next.
We check level, thickness and condition during the site visit and tell you which it is, rather than defaulting to whichever is easier for us. Where it goes, it goes under slab removal and the void is filled properly.

Removing an attached one leaves a house wall that was never meant to be an exterior wall, and it needs weather protection before the crew leaves site. That means the sequence is planned around closing up, not just taking down, and it usually involves your builder on the same day.
Roof lines, flashing and the point where the garage slab met the house all need attention. We coordinate that rather than leaving you with an open elevation over a weekend. The structural side follows the same discipline as load bearing wall removal, any pre-1990 materials are settled under asbestos removal first, and where the driveway goes too it is quoted with the driveway removal line.
