Plant And Steel
Warehouses, production plant and structural steel across New Britain. Isolation and abatement come first, recoverable steel is weighed at a licensed yard, and the credit appears on the invoice.
How We Work
On a steel-heavy building the recovered tonnage moves the price by a meaningful margin, which is why two quotes may not be comparable. A low price often assumes the contractor keeps the steel; a higher one may be crediting it back.
Neither is dishonest, but you cannot judge them side by side without knowing which is which, and it is a fair question to ask before choosing. We weigh at a licensed yard, hand over the tickets and show the credit as its own line so it can be checked rather than trusted.
Frames come down under structural steel removal, buildings under warehouse demolition, and equipment under plant decommissioning.
How It Runs
What is there, in writing, before a price.
Permit filed, notification period started.
Abatement first, then the demolition.
Site swept, waste weighed and documented.
Local Detail
Commercial and industrial demolition carries an asbestos survey requirement and a notification to the regulator, and that period runs in calendar days whether or not everyone else is ready.
It cannot be compressed. On a building of any age the survey will usually find something in the roof sheet, the flashing or a gasket rather than nothing at all, so both are known quantities before a quote is written.
A programme with machines arriving next week has not filed anything. We file on day one and book the survey the same week. Clearance runs under asbestos removal, filing under demolition permits, and waste under disposal and recycling.

They told me on day one that the gas cap would take six weeks, not the demolition. That was the whole schedule and they were right.
Quoted a full removal rather than a partial fill, and explained why the cheaper option would show up on a survey later.
The asbestos survey came back positive on the floor tile. They stopped, abated it, gave me the paperwork, then carried on.
Lot was swept and the debris weighed out with a recycling breakdown. Neighbours never complained once about dust.
